How are you Fed?

Greetings in the name of the one who is the Bread of Life, Jesus the Christ!
 
                How do you show that you are fed? Many times, we are aware of our hunger (or lack thereof) for food, drink, companionship, etc. How do we show others that we have taken our fill? Over the past few weeks in our lectionary Jesus has spoken in many ways about how we can be fed, but not much about the impact of the feeding. This month Jesus confronts those around Him in what does it mean to you that you are fed and the reaction to His question may surprise you.
                Jesus speaks of feeding, He does not say it passively, being fed is an active venture. We are to come to Him (John 6:35), we eat of the bread of life (John 6:51), and when we eat the bread of life, we abide in Him (John 6:56).  None of these are passive moments! We are not to simply stay still and be served but actively go to Jesus, take and eat to be fed by Him, with Him!   
                I know that it has and is much more difficult now to be together, to be active in faith and in life during these times. We must be willing to reach out as we are able and led by the Spirit, to keep in touch with our brothers and sisters in Christ. This month, we are going to resume some of our “normal” activities. God’s work, our hands will take place Sept 12, Tuesday evening Bible study resumes Sept 21, Rummage Sale Oct 2, CROP Walk Oct 9, Harvest festival Oct 30 are only some of the ways we are reaching out to those around us. 
                This is how we at SSOV are showing that we are fed. No these are not the only ways we can be a part of our community, nor should they be. We want you to be with us as the people of God n this place. Not simply for offering, or numbers but because we want to share with you the many ways we are fed by God who works in, with, and through us. Renew the relationships that pandemic has put aside both with God and with each other. We at SSOV are trying to give opportunities to renew faith and life. Come, be fed and know that you are loved and cared for by God. Then share with others how you were fed, loved and cared for.
